Loxitane Generic

Loxapine (sold as Loxapac, Loxitane) is a typical antipsychotic treatment, used principally in the treatment of schizophrenia. It is a member of the dibenzoxazepine class and as a derivative dibenzazepine, he is structurally attached to clozapine (who belongs to the chemically nearly similar class of dibenzodiazepines). Several researchers supported that Loxapine can act as an atypical antipsychotic.

Loxapine can be transformed by metabolism by N-demethylation in amoxapine, a tricyclic antidepressant.
